Jeanette W. Johnson, 92, of Pineville, passed away on Nov. 1, 2022, at Ollie Steele Burden Manor in Baton Rouge, La.
Born in Earle, Ark., on June 17, 1930, and she was a long time resident of Ball, La. She was a member of Kingsville Baptist Church, Pineville. During her working life, she worked as a Hearing and Appeals Assistant for the Social Security Administration. In retirement she enjoyed traveling with her sister Betty and visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jeanette is survived by her daughters, Linda Kathryn Crane (Jim), Sandra Dianne Hammons (Ernie), and Cheryl Anita Harr; grandchildren, Kyle Crane (Kathleen), Jenae Bass Wigley, Hunter Crane, Christopher Harr (Emily), and Brady Crane; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Jayla, Jaylynn, Joycelynn, Abigail, Dawton, Caroline and James, IV.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Wilbur “Wib” Johnson; parents, Manuel and Gladys Shannon Willett; brothers, Gerald Willett and Manuel Willett; one sister, Betty Coleman; two grandsons, Dana Bass and James “Jamie” Crane III; and one granddaughter, Amanda Crane.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Crane, Hunter Crane, Brady Crane, Chris Harr, Dale Willett, and Ernie Hammons. Honorary Pallbearers are Jim Crane and Bobby Shannon.
The family would like to thank the staff of Ollie Steele Burden Manor and Bridgeway Hospice in Baton Rouge.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022, at 9 a.m. at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Pineville.
Funeral service for Jeanette W. Johnson will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022, at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Pineville. Burial will follow in the Pollock Cemetery, Pollock, La.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Jeanette’s name to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Louisiana Chapter, 10101 Siegen Lane, Suite 2A, Baton Rouge, LA 70810 and Cancer Care, 275 Seventh Avenue, New York, NY 10001.
