Joseph “J.C.” Clifford Benoit

Joseph Clifford Benoit, of Lake Charles, La., passed away on Nov. 9, 2022, surrounded by family in his home. He was known to those who loved him as “J.C.”. He was born in Lake Arthur, La., to parents Leonce Benoit and wife Natalia (Mott) on June 28, 1932.
J.C. was an avid gardener and especially loved roses of all kinds. He also kept an extensive vegetable garden. He was a very kind and gentle person, he didn’t have a mean bone in his body.
He was very devout in his faith and was a long term member of St. Margaret Catholic Church. He was captain of the ushers for the 9 a.m. Mass for many years.
He is welcomed into heaven by his wife of 55 years, Huvenia “Tootsie” Benoit; his parents; son, Curtis Benoit; and grandson, Zachary Benoit.
Those left to cherish his beloved memory are his sons, Randy Benoit and Michael Benoit; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation for J.C. will be held at Hixson Lake Charles, 3001 Ryan St. in the Chapel of Peace on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022, at 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. There will be a rosary held at 6 p.m.
Visitation will resume Monday, Nov. 14, 2022, at Hixson Lake Charles at 10 a.m. until time of procession to St. Margaret Catholic Church for services at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles, La.
