Dovey Marlene Liles

Dovey Marlene Liles, age 83, resident of Moss Bluff, La. passed away on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022. Marlene was born on July 15, 1939 in Sulphur, La.
Marlene graduated from Sulphur High School and McNeese State University. Marlene had been dancing since she was in pre-school and continued throughout high school. She continued since high school to meet annually at Christmas time with her friends, “The Girls”. Marlene loved sports and played softball, basketball, and bowled on a league team. She was an avid fisherwoman and enjoyed hunting with her dad and brother from a young age. Marlene worked at Citgo Petroleum for 46 years. Marlene was active member of St. Theodore Catholic Church and Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Catholic Youth Organization and Catholic Daughters of America for over 50 years.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Etie Lopez.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Keith Liles and wife, Christine; granddaughter, Alexandra “Alex” Liles and fiance, Seth Matte; granddaughter, Victoria “Torie” Liles and boyfriend, Nick Watson; a brother, Ronnie Lopez and wife, Peggy; niece, Necole Lopez Barrios and husband, Donnie; nephew, Ron Lopez and wife, Christie; and great-niece and nephews, Samantha, Tyler, Gunner, and Payne.
Marlene’s family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of the Gardens and Guardian House for their wonderful care.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7, 2022 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial with a Rosary beginning at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume at 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Beverung officiating. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Marlene’s memory.
