Sandra “Sandy” Mire

Sandy Lynn Abshire Mire, 73, of Sulphur, La. entered into Eternal Life with her Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven on the evening of Oct. 28, 2022. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Sandy was born in Lake Charles, La. to Leven and Bernice Abshire. Sandy and Ronnie were united in marriage on Sept. 28, 1965, where they began their life raising their three children. Recently celebrating 57 years of marital bliss.
Sandy was a devout Christian woman and a follower of Jesus Christ. She was devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren; enjoyed spending time with them and hearing about all their activities. Oh, how she loved her family, they were her world. She faithfully read her bible, enjoyed listening to French music (especially her youngest son playing the accordion), fishing, attending prayer groups, drinking coffee, visiting, and baking.
She leaves a legacy to her family of God’s amazing love and grace. Though she was a humble, gentle woman, Sandy was nonetheless a powerful prayer warrior, and only heaven knows what a wonderful and eternal impact all her many years of faithful praying have had on her family and friends.
Sandy is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Ronnie Mire; three children, daughter, Gwen Stewart, sons, Chris (Lori) Mire, Steven (Tonya) Mire; nine grandchildren, Lindsey (Nicholas) Miller, Austin Mire, Andrew (Ashley) Mire, Adelynn Domingue, Allie Mire, Raylee Stewart, Aubre’ Mire, Anndyn Mire, Arlie Mire; two great- grandchildren, Kanon Primeaux and Waylon Mire; six siblings, one sister-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leven and Bernice Abshire; sister, Marcia Abshire; brother, Tony Abshire; son-in-law, Keith Stewart; brother-in-law, Herman Mire.
Pallbearers will be Austin Mire, Andrew Mire, Nicholas Miller, Ryan Ardoin, Adam Hebert, Aaron Doxey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kanon Primeaux, Anndyn Mire, Waylon Mire.
Services for Sandy will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles. The family will receive friends on Monday, Oct. 31, 2022, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. and will resume on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of service.
