College basketball has been around for a very long time and has significantly changed since its creation back in 1890s. How the game has changed from a physical standpoint

Basketball was originally invented as a sport that will keep students in shape but also help them avoid injuries that were common in football. Back then, basketball was designed to have around 50 players on each team but that could’ve resulted in pure mayhem and injuries, which basketball was created to prevent, in the first place. Eventually, the team was downgraded to 5 members each on the court, and physical contact was forbidden and attracts penalties. 

How the rules have changed and evolved over time

The first basketball rules were established in 1891 at the Springfield YMCA Training School and have gradually evolved to what we have this day. For example, players would throw the ball to each other but could not run with it originally. Once the ball was caught, the player could not move in any direction but could throw the ball  wherever they choose using both hands. Later on, the rules were changed to allow movement of players with the ball as long as they’re not holding it while doing so. It wasn’t until 1905 that the NCAA was created for all college sports and the rules of basketball began to change over time.

Television has had a profound effect on college basketball over the years. It has increased the visibility of the sport, which has led to more fans and more interest. It has also allowed people to see games from all over the country, which has helped to create a more national following for the sport. 

As college basketball became more visible, more people became interested, especially when it comes to showing support for their home teams, local schools and young athletes on their way to the top. Basketball, in general, became a very famous sport all over the world because of the television coverage and other promotions.
