Rosepine High School administrators say “they are aware and are investigating” a social media video posted from their homecoming festivities depicting a student dressed as a police officer kneeling on another student dressed as George Floyd.

Principal Joey Batz said the “disheartening, unfortunate display” was not part of the school’s pre-planned homecoming activities.

“In no way is this acceptable, nor does it keep with the heart and spirit of what we teach and preach daily,” Batz said.

He said the school is working with the parents and guardians of the students involved.

“After the punitive actions are taken, all we can do is hope and pray we learn from the mistakes made and become better human beings.”
