Caroline Mary Carpenter Gaines was born Sept.10, 1943, in Dunfermline, Scotland. She was the only child born to the late David and Mary Carpenter.
When Caroline did anything, she did it well. In high school she swam on the swim team, even qualifying to compete in the Olympic Trials, two which she placed second.
Following high school she became a successful beautician, opening her own shop in Scotland. It was her love of golf that brought her to the United States to compete in a tournament being held in California. While on her flight she met a handsome architect, Ronald Gaines who also was on his way to compete in the tournament. It was love at first sight and shortly after they were married.
California was where she called home upon moving to the United States, they lived in San Mateo & San Francisco. Their love of golf guided them to many different tournaments across the United States and abroad. They were members of Mallard Cove and Pine Shadows Golf Associations.
In 2004, along side her grandson became United States citizens, it was an achievement she was very proud of. Even before gaining her citizenship she was an avid supporter of the veterans, often donating to their organizations and others that served animals.
A jack of all trades, a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one. She possessed a wealth of worldly knowledge, lived life to the fullest, and expressed she had no regrets in life. She had many hobbies that kept her busy, in her latter years she enjoyed working in her garden, which is described as beautiful beyond belief.
She was welcomed into Heaven Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022, by her beloved husband of twenty years, Ronald “Ron” Gaines; sisters of love, Jan and Myra.
Those left to cherish her memory; a daughter, Lisa Rogers; two sons, Justin Sharp and Josh Gaines; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends; also her beloved fur baby, Precious.
