Gene Harlin LaFleur, 85, of Buna, Texas, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. until the time of service at the Buna Pentecostal Church with burial at Antioch Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Adam’s EE Stringer Funeral Home in Buna.
Gene was born Dec. 7, 1936, in Kinder, La., he lived in Buna for 46 years, and he was a former resident of the Beaumont area.
He is survived by his children, Hardy Hill (Darla) of Kent, Wash., Bryan LaFleur (Michelle), Becky LaFleur of Sulphur, La., Dee Marie Tansey (Mike) of Fort Worth, Texas, Sherryl Baxter (Mike) of Buna, Texas, Kelvin “BooBoo” LaFleur (Wendy) of Kinder, La., and Kent LaFleur (Jeanie) of Orange, Texas; siblings, Genevieve Smith (Bill), Sherman LaFleur (Sandra) of Kinder, La.; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara LaFleur; his parents, Marion and Gertie LaFleur; son, Craig LaFleur; siblings, Charles LaFleur, Ronald “Boonie” LaFleur and Carol LeDoux.
