Gloria Vivian Dowty, born June 6, 1924, age 98, passed away peacefully at her home on Aug. 29, with her loving family by her side. Gloria was the daughter of George and Edna Guillory of Alexandria, La.
She is survived by her children, Ronnie Dowty and his wife Jane, Sharon Dowty Posey; and by her grandchildren, Kent Knipmeyer, Clayton Dowty O’Connor, John Evan Posey, and Jordan Posey Pellissier; as well as her great-granddaughters, Garrison O’Connor and Elayna Knipmeyer. Gloria or Glo or Mammy, as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, adored her family and showed her loving, caring nature in many, many ways throughout her life. Her very kind, generous and gentle nature will be missed by so many. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers from St. Patrick’s Hospice and Palliative Care for their kindness and devotion to our dear mom.
A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
