Two Southwest Louisiana students have been charged with terrorizing after making separate threats to their respective high schools.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent said their office was notified late Friday night of a possible threat from a Sam Houston High School student.

Vincent said detectives were told a 14-year-old boy sent several text messages threatening a school shooting.

Detectives located the boy at his residence and after speaking with him he was arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center and charged with terrorizing.

Vincent said deputies responded to a separate call on Sunday about a 17-year-old Sulphur High student making threats on social media.

The teenage boy allegedly threatened to shoot other students who also attend the school on a specific day of the week, but did not specify if it would actually occur on school property.

Vincent said detectives interviewed the teen and he was later arrested and charged with terrorizing.
