David Andrew Fraser

David Andrew Fraser, 74, of Lake Charles, passed away at 11:48 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2022, in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Fraser was born on Nov. 12, 1947 in Many, La. During his childhood he resided in Shreveport, Homer, and Bossier City and was a graduate of Bossier High School. He furthered his education at Centenary College of Louisiana before attending Paul M. Hebert Law Center at LSU where he received his law degree. Mr. Fraser began his career in Lake Charles at Brame Bergstedt and Brame Law Firm and later opened his own practice, Fraser Wheeler and Courtney Law Firm. He was of the Methodist Faith.
In his earlier years, he was an avid sportsman, having played football, basketball, baseball, and ran track. He was very active in the community and was a past member of the Lake Charles Racquet Club, Graywood Golf and Racquet Club, Lake Charles Country Club, and Lake Charles Yacht Club. In his spare time, he took pleasure in playing golf and tennis, sailing, hunting, and fishing. One of his favorite past times was having educated conversations regarding topics on history and philosophy.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 45 years, Carol Taylor Fraser of Lake Charles; children, Julia Fraser Harris (John) of Plano, Texas, and Andrew Fraser (Katelyn) of Austin, Texas; siblings, Susan Fraser (Steve Matthews) of Mandeville, La., and Jack Fraser (Theresa) of Doyline, La.; and his grandchildren, Camille and Celeste Harris and Nolan and Aidan Fraser.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lottie Maye Fraser.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022, in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. Pastor Ricky Treece and the Rev. Jordan Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Saturday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will resume on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the start of the service.
