Morgan Benjamin “Ben” Duhon, 20, was called to his heavenly home on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.
Morgan was born on Dec. 11, 2001, in Lake Charles, La. He was a 2019 graduate of Louisiana National Guard YCP and worked as a Disaster Relief Specialist for FEMA in Eugene, Ore., and in the Lake Charles area. He was determined, strong-minded, and free-spirited. His fierce independence and adventuresome spirit propelled him wholeheartedly to brave new places and new experiences. Morgan had a tender and compassionate heart. He loved animals and, like any Southwest Louisiana young man, enjoyed hunting and fishing. His faith in the Lord was evidenced by his kind and gentle soul, blessing many of those who crossed his path with encouragement and by sharing that God-given enthusiasm. Morgan was a bright spot in many lives.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving parents, Toby and Melanie Duhon; his sister, Alexandra “Lexi” Duhon; his paternal grandparents, Michael and Donna Duhon; his paternal uncle and aunt, Troy and Susan Duhon and their son, Andreu LaFleur; his maternal grandparents, David and Chere’ Shull; maternal great grandparents, Shirley Bourque and J. D. and Mary Malone; and maternal uncle and aunt, David K. Shull and Jenna Semar and their daughter, Mila Shull.
Funeral service will be at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Johnson Funeral Home. Pastor Karl Smith will officiate. Interment will be at Prien Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, from 4 until 8 p.m. and will resume on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time.
