A DeQuincy man on the run for two days after allegedly attempting to rob a woman at gunpoint was arrested in Sulphur, authorities said.

Garrett Jensen, 21, was placed under arrest after authorities executed a search warrant at a Sulphur residence Wednesday evening. Authorities said he was taken into custody without incident.
A 17 year-old juvenile accomplice remains at large, and authorities are encouraging that individual to turn himself in.
Jensen was charged with attempted armed robbery, aggravated flight in a vehicle, reckless operation of a vehicle, aggravated assault with a firearm and simple cruelty to animals.
DeQuincy Police Chief Casey Whitehead said capturing Jensen was the result of a joint operation between multiple agencies who worked together to gather information.
“This was a combined effort to get Jensen off the streets between Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office and the DeQuincy Police Department,” Whitehead stated.
The hunt for Jensen began on Tuesday morning, June 14, after a woman called 911 to report that a man had pointed a gun at her and demanded money.
The woman told detectives that as she was walking out of her residence on Yoakum Street to get into her friend’s waiting car, a green Ford F150 truck pulled up and blocked her friend’s car in the driveway.
The woman said a man she knew to be Jensen got out of the vehicle and demanded money from her. When she refused, the victim said Jensen allegedly produced a pistol, chambered a round and then pointed it at her, saying he needed money.
The juvenile with Jensen also allegedly pointed a gun at the woman.
The victim said she told Jensen she would make a call to get the money, and that was when she dialed 911.
Chief Whitehead and Chief of Detectives Major Jerry Bell responded to the call and began to pursue Jensen as he fled the scene.
The high speed chase ended in the Oretta area when Jensen pulled onto a logging road and he and the juvenile fled on foot into a nearby wooded area.
Bell said that Beauregard Parish Narcotics detectives searched Jensen’s truck at the scene and located methamphetamine, narcan and other substances, and a fully loaded clip of 9mm bullets and other bullets.
They also located a small puppy “chained” in the vehicle.
Jensen has a criminal history and has several outstanding warrants for his arrest on other unrelated charges.
