Anna Blanche Fontenot, 91, of Lake Charles, passed away at 6:37 a.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2022, in a local hospice facility.
Mrs. Fontenot was born on Sept. 4, 1930, in Welsh, La., and moved to Lake Charles in her teenage years. She became a member of Livingway Pentecostal Church where she enjoyed the Godly music.
She was known for her talent in playing the guitar which she was blessed to still be playing at the age of 90. Mrs. Fontenot liked to collect shiny coins, polished rocks, and delicate seashells and could often be found watching the Hee Haw tv series.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Glenn Fontenot and Ricky Fontenot, both of Lake Charles; brother, Edwin Elton Fontenot of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Paige Marie Davidson, April Michelle Fontenot, Cody Gary Fontenot and Ashley Michelle Allen (Anthony); and great-grandchildren, Mason and Matthew Allen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Fontenot; and seven siblings.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Indian Village Cemetery in Kinder. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until the start of the service.
