Man arrested with $47,000 worth of drugs in his possession

OBERLIN — An Oakdale man was arrested after authorities found him in possession of over a pound of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $47,000 and several firearms.
Bruce Traylor, 54, was arrested on charges of manufacture and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance Schedule II; possession of a controlled dangerous substance Schedule I; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance; resisting an officer; obstruction of justice; violation of the uniform controlled dangerous substance law; drug free zone and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He is being held in the Allen Parish Jail on a $221,500 bond.
Sheriff Doug Hebert III said Traylor was arrested Friday after the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit received that Traylor had a large amount of methamphetamine.
Narcotics agents were able to obtain a search warrant for Traylor’s residence, he said.
During a search of the residence, officers found about 1.6 pounds of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $47,000, marijuana and firearms.
Traylor was also found to be in possession of $2,655 in cash when he was taken into custody.
