A Lake Charles man has been arrested after allegedly firing a gun at a vehicle that had five people inside, including three children.

Lake Charles Police Major Kevin Kirkum said officers responded to calls of shots fired late Monday night in the 1300 block of St. Mary Drive.

“When officers arrived to the area, they located the victim who told officers that she and the suspect, Deshawn Tremaine Landry, got in to a verbal confrontation,” Kirkum said. “As she was attempting to leave, the suspect began firing a gun at her vehicle striking, it several times. At the time of
the shooting five people were in the vehicle, including three juveniles.”

No injuries were reported.

Officers were able to identify Landry, who was near the scene, and arrested him for five counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. His bond was set at $200,000
