Jarvis Jacob & The Gents to headline tonight’s Live @ The Lakefront

The 10th annual Live @ the Lakefront continues tonight.
“Week two picks up where we left off last week with a night full of music, food, art, and fun for the whole family along the lakeshore in beautiful downtown Lake Charles,” said Devon Corbello, executive director, Arts & Humanities Council of SWLA.
The series is free to the public and all beverage sales benefit the Arts & Humanities Council of SWLA.
The band lineup for this tonight: St. Louis Catholic High School Show Choir at 5:30 p.m., followed by Swampland String Band at 6 p.m., Red Dirt Revue at 7:30 p.m., and headlining is Jarvis Jacob & The Gents at 9 p.m.
“The choir will cover classic and modern pop songs,” Cameron Fultz, project coordinator, Arts & Humanities Council of SWLA said. “Folk, Indie and string music is the forte of the Swampland String Band.”
Fultz is excited about getting out to hear Red Dirt Revue, a “brand-new group with some good musicians who offer “classic rock gone country.”
Headliner Jarvis Jacob & The Gents is a rhythm-and- blues, funk and soul act with a new album, “To-Go Plate.”
“I thought it was a good name for an album that caters to locals, whether you’re Cajun, Creole, whether you live in the city or in a rural area. Come out and see us. I think you’ll appreciate the energy we bring to the stage. It’s like a walking party.”
This family-friendly event will feature a variety of food and art vendors on the scene from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. These include A Touch of Color by Jason Sprick, The Inkling Girl, Ulalune Studio, Children’s Museum, Otter Limits, Apothecary & Art, Marie & Lane Designs, Baubling Brooke, Ravenscorp Studio, All Made Up, Sparrow Papercraft, Paint and Fire, & Cypha-Con.
Food trucks include BoomBox Frozen Pops, Hi-Licious Food Truck, Soul Sisters Food & Catering, Ohh Taste and See, Kona Ice, Diana’s Cakes, Confections, and More, Yep’s Gourmet Popcorn, Gary’s Grub Hub, & Paul’s Rib Shack.
In addition to free entertainment, a wide assortment of food and art vendors, attendees can purchase raffle tickets for $5 each for a chance to win season tickets to McNeese State University Baseball.
Live @ the Lakefront wraps up at 10 p.m. An after-party at Panorama begins at 9 p.m.
