Sara Mae Richard, 80, passed away on Feb. 19, 2022, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. Sara was born on May 13, 1941, to Cleven and Corine Manuel. 

Sara was an avid reader. She loved working in her flower beds. Sara retired after 20 years with the Calcasieu Parish School Board working as the cafeteria manager for Frasch Elementary School. Family was Sara’s life.   

Sara is survived by her husband of 52 years, Harry; son, Mark Lyons and wife, Mary; daughter, Tracy Wilburn and husband, David; stepson, Jack Richard and wife, Vickie; stepdaughter, Laura Melancon and husband, Paul; daughter-in-law, Denise Lyons; stepdaughter-in-law, Millie Richard; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and one great-great grandchild one on the way.  She was preceded in death by one son, Allen Lyons and one stepson, Grady Richard; and two sisters, Mary Jane McComb and Rose Chesson.

Services for Sara will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022, at 2  p.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Father Carlos Garcia officiating. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home from 11-2 p.m. with a rosary recited at 12:30 p.m.
