Fight brings early end to W-M, LG

Washington-Marion’s District 4-4A game with LaGrange was called with 43 seconds left after a fight in the crowd spilled onto the court.
W-M was leading 55-48 when the game was called.
The Charging Indians (9-8, 2-0) pulled away in the fourth quarter, scoring seven consecutive points midway through the quarter to take a 53-44 lead.
LaGrange (11-11, 2-1) got back within five on baskets by Caleb Mitchell and Tim Johnson.
A Richaun Stevens basket extended the W-M lead to seven points with 1:17 left.
Stevens finished with 15 points. Elijah Net-ty added 12 and Tyree Brown scored 11.
Neither team led by more than four points in the third quarter, which featured two ties and three lead changes.
Kareem Ceasar led LaGrange with 12 points.
W-M led by as many as seven points twice in the first half.
