Tommy Gene Myrick

Funeral service for Tommy Gene Myrick, 68, of Castor, La., will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, in Rockett Funeral Home Chapel, Ringgold, La. Officiating will be Bro. Bud Grimes. Burial will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery, Jamestown, La. Visitation will be Saturday at Rockett Funeral Home, Ringgold, La., from 11 a.m. until service time.
Tommy Gene was born Sept. 4, 1953, in Lake Charles, La., and passed away Jan. 17, 2022, in Shreveport, La. He was a life-long member of Shriners. He worked side by side with his dad drilling water wells for his dad’s company until they retired together. Tommy Gene loved fishing, hunting, riding horses and being outdoors. He valued spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.Tommy Gene was always irritating his sisters and pinching cheeks. Joking around with people and making people laugh was something he enjoyed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, W. T. “Tommy” Myrick and Terry Jean Fontenot Myrick; son, Tommy Wayne Myrick; and brother, Walter “Dean” Myrick.
Left to cherish his memory include his son, Cody Lee Myrick and wife, Mashanna of Cut Off, La.; sisters, Connie Beth Myrick of Ringgold, La., Tracey Lynn Myrick of Moss Bluff, La., and Wilma “Dale” Myrick Doxsee and husband, Martin of Anchorage, Ark.; grandchildren, Dylan Wayne Myrick, Logan Kyle Myrick, Jace David Myrick, Jadan Harlee Myrick, and Jalyn Rilee Myrick; and a number of other relatives and friends.
