Jeremy “Joe” Lane Singleton

Jeremy Lane “Joe” Singleton was born to James and Jennifer Singleton-Simon. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church. Joe graduated from LaGrange Sr. High School in 2008. After graduation, he moved to Austin, Texas. There he held several jobs. He was a “Handy Man” at heart. Always willing to help everyone out with home repairs. He attended Southern Careers in Austin, Texas, where he received his certification in Welding. Joe was also the proud owner of “Pure Handyman LLC”.
Joe was a quiet person or what he called “Being himself” young man. He was also very loving, helpful, humble, generous, funny and a momma’s boy. He played baseball in his younger days. He was a 1oyal “Saints” fan. He loved music. You would often find him singing gospel music or dancing to his favorite songs. Hanging with family and friends gave him reasons to smile.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Virgie L. Orphey-Singleton; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence and Doris Simon Sr.; and a godfather, Paul Bilbo Sr.
Joe leaves wonderful memories to be cherished by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. James Simon and Jennifer Singleton-Simon of Welsh, La. His fiancée’, Ms. Germaine Randolph of Austin, Texas. His grandfather, Willie Singleton Jr. of Lake Charles, La. Two sisters, Ms. Jada Simon (Zavien) of Sulphur, La., Ms. Kimberly Riggs of Houston, Texas. Three brothers, James Lance Singleton (Alexis) of Austin, Texas, Derrick Riggs (Uranthia), and James “Jamie” Simon Jr. (Breanna) of Houston, Texas. Uncles, Billy Singleton Sr. (Priscilla) of Baton Rouge, La., David Singleton Sr. (Jessica) of Lake Charles, La., Martin Singleton, Sr., of Austin, Texas, Russell Singleton of Lake Charles, La., Clarence Simon Sr., Ivory Simon (Godfather), Stephon Simon of Welsh, La., and Craig Simon (Lucille) of Lake Charles, La. Aunts, (Godmother) Barbara Wattley (Robert), Wanda Malveaux (Darrell) and Bernadette Singleton-Davis of Austin, Texas, Sonja Thorn (Calvin) of Hitchcoc, Texas, Nell Simon and Nicole Simon-Simien of Welsh La., and Kimberly Vital (Terry Sr) of Georgia. Visitation: Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Funeral Services 11 a.m. Saturday, Stevens’ Funeral Home. Masks are required for everyone attending.
