Geraldine Mary Broussard LaBove, 79, of Bell City, La., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021 in a local hospital.
Mrs. LaBove was born on Dec. 20, 1941 in Creole where she lived most of her life until moving to Sweetlake after Hurricane Rita.
She was affectionately called “Moo Moo” by those who loved her. Mrs. LaBove will be remembered for her excellent cajun cooking that she enjoyed feeding others. She cherished her days in Creole with friends listening to the oldies. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Brad Trahan (Keith Chamberlain) of Lake Charles and Lori Theriot (Vince) of Grand Chenier; a brother, Roger Broussard (Elora) of Westlake; grandchildren, Lex Theriot (Misty) and Laney Cheramie (fiancé, Dana Dallas) all of Sweetlake; great-grandchildren, Sadie Theriot and Lane Cheramie both of Sweetlake; and step-children, Scott LaBove, Recia Warner, and Brady LaBove.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry LaBove; parents, Gladys and Lee Broussard; and a brother, Charles Broussard.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021 in the Vineyard Church. Burial will follow in Sweetlake – Grand Lake Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Saturday at 11 a.m. until the start of the services.
