Betty Jane Guidry Mouton

Betty Jane Guidry Mouton, 76, died peacefully at home surrounded by her three children, a sister, and her very dear friend, Lottie Soileau.
Betty was born on July 23, 1945, in Lafayette, La., the daughter of Jeanne Dejean Guidry and Hector Guidry. She was married to the late Donald J. Mouton residing in Carencro, La. In 2011 she moved to Lake Charles, La. where she left a lasting impression on so many with her witty sense of humor and caring, loving spirit; she truly never met a stranger.

During her life, she was blessed with three children, nine grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
On Nov. 3, 2021, Betty was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung and Esophageal Cancer, by God’s loving grace she did not suffer long.
The family will be forever grateful for the skill and care of our precious Mom provided by Brighton Bridge Hospice. During the very short time we had with Brighton Bridge, a huge impact was made in Mom’s life as well as our lives. Amia and Kortney, thank you for getting us started on our last journey of life with Mom. Tory and Tammy, thank you for lovingly caring for our Mom, you two sisters were such a joy. And a very heartfelt thank you to her very special nurse, Donna Torres, for all the compassion and care you gave to our precious Mom in her final days of life. Thank you for making her laugh and loving her. You are a beautiful soul and a blessing. Thank you for being with us, her children, sharing with us the process, listening to our fears and for your sweet hugs. Donna, thank you for helping Mom to be as comfortable as possible. Words can not express what our heart holds for you.
Betty is survived by her three children, Troy Quebedeaux (Christy) of Lake Charles, La., Tammy Andreas (Tim) of Lake Charles, La., and Tommy Mouton (Evette) of Carencro, La. Nine grandchildren, Candi Babin (Chad) of Lake Charles, La., Amber Hayes (David) of Crowley, La., Trae Mouton of Carencro, La., James (Bubba) Moore (Shelby) of Sterlington, La., Tylor Quebedeaux (Greg Guillory) of Lake Charles, La., Jake Mouton of Carencro, La., Blaike Andreas (Becca) of Moss Bluff, La., Cody Andreas (Lindsay) of Moss Bluff, La., and Denee’ Kumpp (Josh Oustalet) of Lake Charles, La. 13 great-grandchildren, Keely, Kailee, Ashton, Cayson, Everett, Bryson, Thomas, Bella, Autumn, Parker, Hayes, Corbin and Camille.
She is also survived by her sisters, Lilly (Loyton) Sonnier of Carencro, La., Barbara (Milton) Leblanc, of Lafayette, La., Rusty (Joe) Taylor, Etoile, Texas, Audrey (Joe) Romero, of Abbeville, La.; and her brother, Darrell (Karen) Guidry of Broussard, La. Betty dearly loved her many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanne Dejean Guidry; her father, Hector Guidry; her husband, Donald J. Mouton; two precious grandbabies, Laney Olivia Mouton and Riley Louis Mouton; three sisters, Shirley Guidry McBride, Patricia Guidry Folks, Jackie Guidry Ortiz; and one niece, Roxana (Nana) Mtanyos.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021 at 3 p.m., a Rosary will be said at 5 p.m. followed by her service officiated by Pastors Jerry and Hope Snider at Christian World, 2001 E Gauthier Rd, Lake Charles, La.
