Juanita “Nita” Miller Ely, 76, of Moss Bluff, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021 at her residence. She was born to her late parents, R.V. Miller and Frances Gordon on Sept. 13, 1945 in Lucedale, Miss. She had a lot of friends at Walmart, where she worked as Department Manager for 20 years. Nita enjoyed scrapbooking, and spending time with her friends and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchild.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 44 years, Jim Ely; one son, Hunter Ely (Michelle) of Round Rock, Texas; two sisters, Mary Frances Jones (Michael “Dawg” Crowe) of Columbus, Miss., Wanda Johnson (Michael) of Orange, Texas; four grandsons, Reed Ivey, Cole Ivey (Tiffany Foster), Aiden Ely, and Owen Ely; along with one great-grandson, Miles Ivey.

Nita is preceded in death by her son, David Ivey; and daughter, Tammy Lynn Ivey.

A private Celebration of Life for Nita will be held at a later date.
