JENNINGS — A fugitive believed to be a suspect in a kidnapping in 2018 was arrested Friday by the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Patrick Treavon Rolle, 22, of Baton Rouge was arrested on multiple outstanding warrants for second-degree kidnapping, extortion, possession of a firearm by a felon and aggravated assault with a firearm.
Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Chris Ivey said investigators learned of the kidnapping from witnesses during a double homicide investigation of a Lacassine couple in 2018. The kidnapping allegedly occurred seven days before the homicide.
Walter Joseph Gotreaux, 72, and his wife, Darlene Cecelia Gotreaux, 70, were found dead in their home on U.S. 90, just west of Lacassine, in December 2018 after deputies went to the residence to check on them after receiving a welfare concern from a neighbor.
Rolle was identified as a suspect in the kidnapping and a warrant was obtained for his arrest earlier this year.
No other details concerning the kidnapping have been released.
