Terry Lynn Newman, 66, passed away Sept. 14, 2021 in a local hospital.
He was born in Jennings, La. and lived all his life in Lake Charles. He was the owner and manager at Old Town Tavern. He graduated from Lake Charles High School and Sowela Technical College.
He is survived by his brother, Curtiss Newman of Lake Charles, and his sister, Joyce Cooper of Lake Charles.
He was preceded by his parents, Eulice and Eliza “Sweet” Newman; brothers, Clifford Newman, Roland Newman, Raleigh Newman, Elton J. Thibodeaux and Charles Newman; sister, Edelyn Jean Newman.
Pallbearers will be Andre Newman, Charles Newman, Mark Newman, Ricky Hulin, Russell Holland and Don Rider.
Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Friday, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. with a Cursillo Rosary at 4 p.m. Visitation will resume Saturday at 8 a.m. until time of service at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021 at St. Margarets Catholic Church with the Rev. Nathan Long officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at Estherwood Cemetery in Estherwood, La.
