Terry Wayne Van Slyke

Terry Wayne Van Slyke, 75 of Westlake, La., passed away on Friday, Aug. 27, 2021. Terry was born Dec. 23, 1945, in Lake Charles, La.
Terry was a lifelong resident of Westlake, La., where he graduated from Westlake High School. He was a member of the Westlake Church of God where he was a proud Christian. After 22 years of service Terry retired from the Port of Lake Charles, where he worked in Railroad Maintenance. To his family he was known as “Uncle Terry”, a title he loved most of all. He was the #1 Rams fan, and enjoyed fishing and listening to all types of music.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Woodrow P. Van Slyke and Pearl Loftin.
Those left to cherish his memories are his Sister; Ann Harrell and husband Mahlon of Westlake, Niece; Mandy Sanders and husband BJ of Lake Charles, Nephew; John Harrell and wife Katie of Butler, Tn, three Great Nephews; Noah, Chamis, and Larry, and one Great Niece; Lona
The family will welcome the public for visitation Sept. 1, 2021, beginning at 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake, La. Pastor Ken Sifford, Pastor Ann Harrell, and Pastor Rich Rials will officiate.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made to the Westlake Church of God, ATTN: Operation Christmas child shoe box.
