MARY ANN TRAHAN

SULPHUR – Mary Ann Trahan, 77, died Thursday, May 13,
2021, in a local care center.

She was a native of Cameron and had been a resident of Sulphur since 2006, moving from Johnson Bayou. She was a member of Our Lady of Lasalette Catholic Church in Sulphur and previously was a
member of the Catholic Daughters. Mary Ann enjoyed camping with her grandchildren and spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Carroll Louis Trahan of Sulphur; her children, Belinda Simon and husband, Jessie of
Hackberry, Carla Hunsberger and husband, Gary of Sulphur, and Jenny Welch and husband, John of Vinton; four siblings; seven grandchildren, Alesha Broussard and husband, Jeff, Andrea Brown, Jill Simon, Holly Fox and husband, Ben, Wesley Simon, and
Colin Welch; and seven great-grandchildren, Elijah and Noah Fox, Karlee Skeldon, Tatum and Steve Moore, and Caleb and Waylon Broussard. She is preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Morgan Welch; her parents, Damosthane “Coon” Benoit and
Leona Benoit; her uncle and aunt who raised her, Eli and Alida Benoit; and five siblings. Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 15, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Andrews Kollannoor, M.S. will officiate. Burial will be in
Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. Friday with a rosary service at 6 p.m.and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the funeral home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
