One arrested during DWI checkpoint
More than 400 vehicles passed through a Friday DWI checkpoint set up in the 3100 block of Westwood Road in Westlake by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Spokesperson Kayla Vincent said seven field sobriety tests were administered; four citations were issued for no seatbelt; two citations were issued for no child restraint; and two citations were issued for no insurance.
Jason P. Johnson Jr., 21, of Lake Charles was arrested for possession of CDS II; illegal carry of a weapon in the presence of a CDS; traffic citation.
The following individuals were issued a signed summons and released:
Michael J. Hennigan, 28, Westlake — DWI second-offense
Patrick B. Guidry, 48, Lake Charles — DWI; possession of marijuana; open container
Cesar Nery Jr., 18, Lake Charles — was arrested for possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia

Zeke Raymon Turner, 22, 1505 Stevenson St., Vinton — domestic abuse battery, child endangerment; reckless operation.
Hakeem Olajuwon Mitchell, 25, 912 Anthony Drive, Sulphur — direct contempt of court; home invasion; aggravated assault with a firearm; simple battery; possession of firearm or carrying concealed weapon by a person convicted of certain felonies; illegal use of weapons or dangerous instruments.
Luis Villa-Lobos, 33, Phoenix — operating while intoxicated, third offense; possession of marijuana, first offense (14 grams or less); prohibited acts, drug paraphernalia.
Ryan Jermaine Shelton, 43, 1413 Nichols St., Vinton — disturbing the peace; inciting to riot, misdemeanor; attempted manslaughter; telephone communications/improper language/harassment; simple assault.
Brandon Lamont Shelton, 41, 1413 Nichols St., Vinton — attempted manslaughter; disturbing the peace/violent and tumultuous manner/disorderly conduct; rioting; turn signals on new motor vehicles. Bond: $61,100.

Deion Jardan McTier, 26, 812 6th Ave. — vehicle not registered; obstruction of justice; possession of synthetic marijuana, first offense; drug possession. Bond: $6,100.
Rubens Vaillant, 29, 2465 La. 397 No. 222 — domestic abuse aggravated assault child endangerment; aggravated assault with a firearm; false personation of a peace officer.
Joseph Paul Oquain, 48, 914 Platt St., Sulphur — two counts direct contempt of court; illegal possession of stolen things less than $1,000; resisting an officer; two counts theft from $5,000 but less than $25,000; unauthorized entry of a place of business; obstruction of justice; simple criminal damage to property less than $1,000.
Rusty Joseph Benoit, 37, 1107 Lori Lane, Sulphur — aggravated flight from an officer; illegal possession of stolen things from $5,000 but less than $25,000; obsturction of justice; possession of syntheic marijuana, first offense; resisting an officer; traffic-control signals; operating vehicle while license is suspended; switched license plate; classes of license; intentional littering prohibited; parole detainer. Bond: $124,000.

John Colt Wimberly, 34, 1993 Lisa St., Vinton — unauthorized entry of a place of business; theft of a motor vehicle from $5,000 but less than $25,000; criminal trespass. Bond: $16,000.
Chloe Rachel Edwards, 28, 2465 La. 397 No. 215 — dating partner abuse, child endangerment law.
Zeboriah Hill, 38, 4313 JE Miller Road, Starks — direct contempt of court; two counts theft from $1,000 but less than $5,000; simple burglary; simple criminal damage to property less than $1,000; criminal conspiracy; two counts drug possession; illegal carrying of weapons during commission of a crime or in presence of CDS; illegal use of controlled dangerous substances in the presence of persons under 17; prohibited acts, drug paraphernalia. Bond: $20,000.
