Man accused of taking from disabled
A Lake Charles man has been arrested for theft from the disabled, authorities said.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent said their office received a complaint Jan. 28 in reference to suspicious ATM withdrawals and fraudulent transactions from the victim’s account.
During the investigation detectives learned a family member, Larry D. Lacey Jr., 36, took the victim’s debit card and made fraudulent withdrawals and purchases totaling about $1,300 since December 2019.
On April 30 after further investigation Judge David Ritchie signed a warrant in the amount of $15,000 for Lacey’s arrest.
On May 6 he was arrested at the victim’s residence and charged with identity theft over $1,000 when the victim is over the age of 60 or has a disability. He was released on bond the following day.

Derrick Clayton Bland Sr., 38, 2130 10th St. — violations of protective orders. Bond: $10,000.
Gregory Shaun Wisner, 34, 3576 S. Kendrick Road, Sulphur — two counts drug possession. Bond: $17,500.
Christian Edward Hendricks, 42, 4442 Brown St. No. 3 — domestic abuse battery, strangulation.
Christopher Lawrence Trahan, 35, 540 Jays Circle, Sulphur — drug possession; felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile; indecent behavior with juveniles. Bond: $707,500.
Jerry James Sullivan, 23, 1408 N. Prater St. — nonconsensual disclosure of a private image; simple battery. Bond: $10,000.
Tommy Dee Touson, 30, 2400 Fruge St. — domestic abuse battery. Bond: $6,000.
Karen Lynn Young, 53, 602 Ash St., Iowa, La. — two counts drug possession. Bond: $15,000.
Brandon Jermaine Holland, 30, 120 N. Jake St. — two counts drug possession; possession of marijuana, first offense (14 grams or less); prohibited acts, drug paraphernalia; aggravated flight from an officer; driver must be licensed; possession of alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles; traffic-control signals. Bond: $25,500.
Paul Emile Wilson Jr., 46, 2020 23rd St. — possession of firearm or carrying concealed weapon by a person convicted of certain felonies; aggravated second-degree battery; illegal use of weapons or dangerous instruments. Bond: $230,000.
Jose Joel Sedano, 28, 356 Tara Drive, Sulphur — domestic abuse battery, strangulation.
Kenneth Wayne Bortz, 33, 239 N. Perkins Ferry Road No. 75, Moss Bluff — cruelty to juveniles. Bond: $7,500.
