Holmes in 4th at Quail Valley
VERO BEACH, Fla. — McNeese freshman Greg Holmes shot rounds of 67 and 68 on day one of the 2019 Quail Valley Intercollegiate on Sunday, completing the first 36 holes at 9-under par and in fourth place on the individual leaderboard.
As a team, McNeese shot a 6-under and is in 11th place in the 14-team field after rounds of 284 and 286 for a 570 total.

Notre Dame tops the team leaderboard at 29-under par following rounds of 277 and 270 for a 547 total.
Holmes recorded 12 birdies in the two rounds and had five birdies with no bogeys in the first round as he finished with a 67. He followed that up by shooting birdies in three of the final five holes in round two to post a 68.
Fellow freshman Rick Frauenberger is second on the McNeese leaderboard with a 2-under 142 following rounds of 70 and 72. Michael Terblanche, playing in his first tournament this fall season, shot rounds of 74 and 73 to finish the day at 3-over par while Reid Giardina shot 75-73 and Theo Berger 73-78.
Redshirt freshman Trey Meadows shot rounds of 77-76 playing as an individual.
UMKC’s Paul Foulquie tops the individual leaderboard with a 12-under par 132 following rounds of 68-64 while South Florida’s Albin Bergstrom had the low round on the day of a 63 which also ties a record low round for the eighth-year tournament.
USF’s first round score of 268 also set a tournament record as the lowest team score in a round, beating the previous record of 273 that North Florida shot in the third round of the 2016 tournament then tied by USF in 2017’s second round.

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla.—McNeese women’s golf team sits in ninth place at the 42nd annual Pat Bradley Invitational following Sunday’s first round score of 296.
The tournament will continue thru Tuesday with 18 holes Monday and the final 18 on Tuesday.
South Alabama leads the 17-team field with a 283 followed by Florida Atlantic and Cincinnati two shots behind in second place.
Senior Riley Isaac, who is competing in her only fall tournament, posted the best Cowgirl round with an even-par 72 and is tied for 22nd place. Isaac shot par on 16 of 18 holes on the day. She bogeyed the par-3 second hole but got that shot back with a birdie on the par-3 fourth hole.
Maria Garcia shot a 1-over par 73 and is tied for 29th place. Garcia managed two birdies on the day but bogeyed three holes including two back to back bogeys on No. 15 and 16.
Other Cowgirl results have Anika Hovda tied for 43rd place with a 3-over par 75, Isabel Huntsman is tied for 56th place following her 76 and Roxane Nataf is tied for 86th place with an 81.
Florida’s Lauren Waidner, who is playing as an individual, shot a 5-under par 67 to hold the individual lead.
