A Beauregard Parish deputy was arrested Friday after allegedly sexually assaulting a female inmate, according to authorities.
Deputy Dale Bailey was arrested and charged with third-degree rape and malfeasance in office after detectives say they received a complaint from a female Beauregard Parish inmate.
According to detectives, the incident is alleged to have occurred Thursday, May 30, while the inmate was being seen at a medical care facility away from the jail.
Detectives obtained statements and collected evidence that was consistent with the complaint. Upon questioning, detectives said that Bailey admitted to having sex with the inmate while she was in custody.
Bailey was booked into the Beauregard Parish Jail where he remains without bond. He was also terminated from the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives told the American Press that Bailey has been with BPSO since May 16 of this year.
