A 32-year-old Westlake man has been charged with failure to register as a sex offender, two counts of drug possession and drug use in the presence of minors.

According to records from the Calcasieu Correctional Center, Louis James Stoddard was one of four people arrested by the Westlake Police Department Monday afternoon at his home at 910 Shafer St.

Stoddard, who was convicted of carnal knowledge of a juvenile in 1999, remained in jail Tuesday.

Also arrested with Stoddard were: 45-year-old Richard Burke, 26-year-old Tiffany Mechelle Mills and 39-year-old Tiffiney D. Soileau.

Burke, 155 Randol Drive, Anacoco, and Mills, 224 Mills Road, Anacoco, were charged with drug possession and drug use in the presence of minors.

Soileaux, 910 Shafer St., Westlake, was charged with drug possession, first-offense marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and drug use in the presence of minors.

Jennings man facing multiple charges

A 24-year-old Jennings man has been charged with two counts of drug possession, marijuana possession, failure to pay child support and contempt of court.

Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Christopher Ivey said Harold Trey Hargrave, 16112 La. 26, Lot A, was arrested Monday.

“Detectives, who were there to serve a warrant for non-support, discovered narcotics in Hargrave’s residence,” Ivey said. “Hargrave had marijuana and an assortment of prescription pills.”

No bond was set.

Sulphur man arrested again

For the second time in less than two months, a 43-year-old Sulphur man has been charged with domestic abuse battery.

Sulphur Police Department spokesman Mel Estess said Robert Dowers, 1103 E. Burton St., was arrested recently and charged with domestic abuse battery.

Dowers was also arrested on June 15 and charged with simple battery and domestic abuse battery by strangulation.

Kenton Dawin Greene, 41, 611 Dixy Drive — simple burglary, theft $300 to $500, possession of tools customarily used by thieves or burglars . Bond: $50,000.

Barry D. Handy, 35, 2217 Clarinda St. — two counts of public intimidation or retaliation, resisting an officer by refusal to show ID, open-container violation. Bond: $41,100.

Jonathan Paul Cursey, 21, Statford, Texas — drug possession, open-container violation. Bond: $15,000.

Joseph Lee Bartie, 28, 125 N. Franklin St. — second-offense marijuana possession. Bond: $15,000.

Joshua Jermaine Richard, 22, 1016 N. Shattuck St. — simple burglary, two counts of theft under $500, simple criminal damage to property under $500, possession of stolen things. Bond: $7,000.

Edward Bernard, 50, 2106 See St. — drug possession. Bond: $5,000.

Peter Louis Torres, 39, New Braunfels, Texas — purse snatching.

John Clayton West, 42, 367 La. 108 East, Sulphur — intimidating, impeding, or injuring witnesses or officers.

Toccara Leshawn Holland, 21, 2016 Woodring St. — drug possession, first-offense marijuana possession.

Michael Ray Thomas, 26, 2712 Comeaux St. — drug possession, first-offense marijuana possession, resisting an officer, failure to signal.

Jeffrey Jay Doucette, 51, 1016 N. Shattuck St. — simple burglary, soliciting for prostitutes.

Sylvia Kay Ryan Stanek, 55, 2226 Ray St. — simple burglary, soliciting for prostitutes.

Wilford Donnell Goodwin, 30, 187 Farquar Lane — first-offense marijuana possession, marijuana possession with intent to distribute.

The Sulphur Police Department reported the following arrest:

John Patrick Fontenot, 33, Beetree St., Westlake — drug possession with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension, driving with an expired license.
