ORANGE, Texas — The award-winning global Blue Man Group will return to Lutcher Theater, 707 Main St., for performances Dec. 22-23 just prior to taking their tour worldwide in 2016.
The performances are non-verbal, multi-sensory shows filled with music and laughter, said Lynae Sanford, marketing manager at Lutcher.
“They’re really hard to explain, but they’re so much fun,” Sanford said of the men painted in blue.
One of the things audiences can expect, Sanford said, is a great deal of interaction between the performers and attendees.
She said the Blue Men will be accompanied by a live band whose haunting tribal rhythms will help drive the show. At other times, the men will be using different apparatuses to create their own drum-like sounds.
The first performance of the Blue Man Group was in 1991 after three friends collaborated to come up with the unique show, Sanford said.
She said the group performs about 3,600 shows a year.
“Everybody leaves going, ‘Wow, that was fun,’ ” Sanford said.
Tickets range from $65 on the main floor to between $45 and $60 for balcony seats.
Student tickets are $5 less than the adult tickets depending on the seating area.
Tickets can be purchased online at lutcher.org or by calling 409-886-5535.
