The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on a vehicle that may have been involved in the May 22 armed robbery of a Moss Bluff bank, authorities said.
A man wearing a face covering and a dark hoodie entered CSE Federal Credit Union, at 1170 Sam Houston Jones Parkway, demanded money from a teller and fled into a wooded area, said Kim Myers, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.
The robber was tracked to an area where officials believe he left in a vehicle, Myers said. Video surveillance footage from the area showed a vehicle driving by the credit union several times before the robbery and then leaving the area immediately afterward, she said.
The car, described as a black Chevrolet Camaro, possibly a model from 2010 to 2014, was seen traveling south on U.S. 171, heading toward Interstate 10, at 12:20 p.m. the day of the robbery, Myers said.
The car’s rims are black with silver or chrome trim, and the vehicle may have a temporary tag on the back and an unidentifiable green plate on the front, she said.
Anyone with information on the car or its owner can call the Sheriff’s Office at 491-3605 or Crime Stoppers at 439-2222.
