Breaux Bridge man indicted for attempted second-degree murder

<span class="R~sep~ACopyBody">A 24-year-old Breaux Bridge man was indicted Thursday in state district court on charges of attempted second-degree murder and armed robbery in connection with a 2016 incident at a Lake Charles motel.</span>
<span class="R~sep~ACopyBody">Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies said they found a naked man, bleeding from a head laceration, lying on the floor of a room at the Oasis Motel on North Lakeshore Drive on Dec. 29.</span>
<span class="R~sep~ACopyBody">The victim, who was 23, was treated at St. Patrick Hospital, according to the incident report. Authorities arrested Troylen Jermaine Stewart on April 13 in Lafayette and charged him with armed robbery and attempted first-degree murder. He is in the Calcasieu Correctional Center.</span>
<span class="R~sep~ACopyBody">Stewart is the fourth defendant indicted in connection with the crime. Brittany Paige Edwards, 19, Bryson Alexander Goins, 23, and Robert Montell Hendrix, 24, were indicted March 9 on charges of attempted first-degree murder and armed robbery.</span>
