<span class="R~sep~ACopyBody">JENNINGS — Authorities say no foul play is suspected in the death of a Gueydan man whose body was found on the floor in a local motel room Wednesday.</span>

<span class="R~sep~ACopyBody">Byron Keith Reese, 38, was found dead in a room at the Budget Inn on La. 26 just north of Jennings at about 8 a.m.</span>

<span class="R~sep~ACopyBody">A preliminary investigation shows no signs of trauma or a struggle, said Cmdr. Christopher Ivey. The cause of death is pending an autopsy, he said.</span>

<span class="R~sep~ACopyBody">Ivey said a couple checked into the motel room at about 2 a.m., but the man locked the woman out of the room. She was forced to sleep in the vehicle in the parking lot, he said.</span>

<span class="R~sep~ACopyBody">Deputies were called to the motel and tried to enter the room, but the door was locked and chained. They discovered the man’s body when they entered, he said.</span><p>Budget Inn. (Special to the American Press)</p>
