Lake Charles Police said a pedestrian was hit in the 1000 block of Gerstner Memorial this morning.

Officers were dispatched to the scene at 11:38 a.m. in reference to a crash involving an automobile and a pedestrian. Initial officers arriving observed a pedestrian suffering from injuries and rendered aid until Acadian Ambulance arrived on scene.

The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to Lake Charles Memorial Hospital with critical injuries where they currently remain hospitalized.
