Olin Montgomery Lacy Jr.

Olin Montgomery Lacy Jr., 86, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025 in a local care center.
He was born and raised in Houston, Texas and had been a resident of Longville for the last 45 years. Olin received his Master’s Degree from Georgia Tech and then went on to start his own business, Lacy and Associates Land Surveying. He was very instrumental in the design and planning aspects of the rural fire stations in Beauregard and Allen Parishes, had formerly served as President of the Beauregard Rural Fire Board, and also served as a volunteer firefighter. He was a member of Church of the King, The American Society of Civil Engineers, and a local hunting club. He was an avid hunter and he enjoyed working crossword puzzles and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Beverly Lacy of Longville; his son, Michael Lacy and wife, Tamara, of Sulphur; his son-in-law, Sean Grimshaw, of Lake Charles; his grandchildren, Shannen Cannon and husband, Jacob, and Reagan Lacy, and his great-grandchildren, Aubree Cannon and Max Cannon. He is preceded in death by two children, Katie Lacy Grimshaw and Olin “Trey” Lacy III, and a grandson, Kyler Lacy.
His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 18 at First Baptist Church of DeQuincy. Pastor Josh Bigwood will officiate. Burial will be in Bivens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Broussard, Jacob Cannon, Shawn Ward, Greg Barron, Terrell Cooper, and Sean Grimshaw. Visitation is from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday in the church.
