A 19-year-old Lake Charles man has been charged with second-degree murder after an altercation turned deadly.

Lake Charles Police Lt. Brenda Treadway said officers were notified at 8:30 p.m. May 13 of a shooting in the 500 block of Louisiana Avenue.

Treadway said the Patrol Division arrived on scene and found a male subject deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. He was later identified as 47-year-old Ray A. Kelly Jr.

The victim was involved in an altercation with the suspect later identified as Kamarion J. Harrison, Treadway said.

The Lake Charles Swat Team located Harrison on May 14 at a home on Roy Road, where he was arrested without incident.

Harison is charged with second-degree murder and is being housed at the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Facility. His bond is set at $2 million.
