A second arrest has been made in connection with the cruelty of an elderly man in Jennings.

Duhon was booked into the Jeff Davis Parish Jail on charges of cruelty to the infirmed, exploitation of the infirmed, and theft. He remains in jail on a $60,000 bond.

Fulton is accused of stealing $40,000 from the elderly victim’s bank account over the last five months after she allegedly removed him from a local nursing home against medical advice.

Fulton is charged with cruelty to the infirmed, exploitation of the infirmed, and theft and currently being held in the Jeff Davis Parish Jail on a $60,000 bond.

The couple’s arrest followed a response by Jennings police to a domestic disturbance in the 1300 block of N. Main Street on March 31.

Upon arriving at the residence, officers found Fulton and Duhon arguing at the front door. The officers later learned the dispute was related to the care of an elderly man living at the home.

The elderly man was discovered to be malnourished and living in unsanitary conditions.

Further investigation revealed that Fulton had checked the elderly man out of a local nursing home against doctors’ orders five months earlier. Detectives obtained warrants for the victim’s financial records and discovered that Fulton had withdrawn over $40,000 from the victim’s accounts during that period.
