31-year-old found guilty in rape of 6-year-old

A 31-year-old Lake Charles man has been found guilty as charged Tuesday on one count of first-degree rape.

According to the Calcasieu District Attorney’s office, in 2022 Josue M. Soto-Rodriguez forced the victim, who was 6 at the time of the crime, to perform oral sex on him.

Soto-Rodriguez is facing a mandatory life sentence.

Sentencing will be held on April 17 before Judge Lee Hoffoss.

Deputy Chief of Litigation Taylor Alexander and Assistant District Attorney Kadence Huber prosecuted the case for the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office.
