IOWA – Parker Daigle’s clutch hit lifted Iowa to a 2-1 extra-inning win over Pine Prairie in a battle of top-five teams Wednesday evening at Iowa High School.

With the score tied 1-1 in the bottom of the eighth inning, Daigle hit a grounder to second base with the bases loaded and beat out the throw on a close call to score Addisyn Singletary.

Singletary reached base on a single with one out. Allie Darbonne hit a two-out single and Alivia Singletary was intentionally walked to load the bases, setting the stage for Daigle’s hit.
