City gives update on ongoing infrastructure, overlay projects

The city of Lake Charles Engineering Division reports that work is nearing completion on a significant infrastructure and overlay project.
The $2.3 million package includes underground drainage, sanitary sewer and water main work in addition to road work, including asphalt overlays.
Streets included in the package include the following, and work is scheduled to be complete within the next two weeks:
  • N. Malcolm Street (Conoco Street to Crockett Street)
  • Crockett Street (Ory Street to U.S. 171)
  • Pack Road (Old Hwy 171 to Habibi Center)
  • Kinder Street (U.S. 171 to East to Dead End)
  • North Grace Street (Kinder Street to Poe Street)
  • Colfax Street (U.S. 171 to East to Dead End)
  • Lynn Street (U.S. 171 to East to Dead End)
  • Mary Street (U.S. 171 to East to Dead End)
  • Mary Belle Williams Park Parking Lot
Additionally, work is ongoing on Conoco Street, from Ory Street to U.S. 171. This work also includes underground utility work and an asphalt overall. This work is scheduled to be complete by mid-April, weather permitting.
