Daniel Hernandez, 18, a resident of Lake Charles, died tragically on March 10, 2025, at a local hospital. 

Daniel was currently attending Alfred M. Barbe High School and would have graduated this coming May. He loved food and playing video games. He was an outstanding son and brother. Daniel worked at CVS and alongside his father at his construction company and particularly enjoyed electrical work. Daniel was most proud of joining the Louisiana National Guard.

Mr. Hernandez is survived by his parents, Jose Francisco Hernandez and Angelica Mendez; his two sisters, Isabel Perez, and Sensei Hernandez; three brothers, Fransico J. Hernandez, Angel H. Hernandez, and Misael Hernandez; grandmother, Ma. Gregoria Morales and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed in Spanish at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue again on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 8 a.m. until the time of departure for the church. A bilingual Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Monsignor Daniel Torres will officate. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery.
