ROADWORK: Upcoming road closures across the region

The city of Lake Charles has been notified of two upcoming temporary lane closures beginning Monday, March 10. The first lane closure will begin at 7 a.m. and affect both the east and west bound lanes of West 18th Street between Madison and Lake streets. This closure is to allow contractors to complete a sewer line tie-in, and weather permitting; is expected to last until 5:30 p.m. on Friday, March 14. The second lane closure will also begin at 7 a.m. and will affect both the east and west bound lanes of Smith Road between 9th Avenue and Gerstner Memorial Boulevard. This closure is to allow contractors to replace a section of the road, and weather permitting; will last until 7 a.m. on Friday, March 28.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces intermittent lane closures in multiple locations along the Interstate 10 South Service Road West of Sampson Street. The closures will take place 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, March 10-14, March 10, and is necessary to conduct asphalt milling and overlay operations on the service road.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces shoulder closures in multiple locations will take place nightly 7 p.m.-5 a.m. Monday-Thursday, March 10-13, to conduct soil boring evaulations. The following areas will be closed:
- Right shoulder of I-10 Westbound from Exit 27 (Sampson St.) to Exit 26 (US 90).
- I-10 (Exit 25) at I-210 Interchange: Ramp closure from I-210 West to I-10 Westbound toward Beaumont.
- I-10 (Exit 25) at I-210 Interchange: Ramp Closure from I-10 (Exit 25) East to I-210 Eastbound.
- I-10 Eastbound right lane closure from Exit 27 (Sampson St.) to Exit 31A (Enterprise Blvd).
- Right shoulder closure from LA 379 (Sulphur Ave.) East to LA 378 (Sampson St.) South.
- Right shoulder closure I-10 Westbound near I-210 Interchange (MM 25).
- Right shoulder closure for I-10 Westbound exit from Sampson St. to Westbound I-10.
- Right shoulder closure on I-10 Westbound entrance ramp from PPG Drive.
