Born Sept. 18, 1932 to Arizona and Albert Jackson in a log house in Moss Bluff, La. went to be with his Lord and Savior March 5, 2025 at the age of 92. He was a proud businessman, land owner, cattle farmer, and avid fisherman.
He served his country through the US Army in 1953 to 1955 at Fort Benning, Ga. during the Korean War. He met his love Alice Ann Guidry and the two were married on Oct. 14, 1955. Together they had four beautiful children William Marty, Sherry Ann, Timothy Scott and Shannon Verdice. He and Alice loved the Lord and served diligently at their local church of Moss Bluff Pentecostal Church. In his early life he worked hard everyday whether that be helping people find the perfect home, baling hay, working the land or the cattle.
He never stopped even in his later years, always on a mission to do something, milking cows at 88 years old, always supervising and inspecting the job and telling the boys how to do something usually his way and sometimes starting fires. When he wasn’t working he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He loved the holidays, family gatherings, and sitting on his back porch with his wife watching his ducks. In his later years he faithfully cared for his ailing wife until she passed from this life on April 4, 2024.
He was a proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather. To his siblings he was known as “Toot”, he was the third of 10 children, and loved to talk about his family usually making the statement “one more thing and I’ll quit”. He enjoyed discussing the simple times of planting sweet potatoes on the farm in Dry Creek, time spent with his best friend (Albert Jackson), working the cows and fighting with his brothers W.A. Carlton, G.C. and Larry. He loved his older sister Wilma Lee (or as they called her Wormalee) and younger sister Bobbye. He was always proud to talk about his eight grandchildren but even prouder to tell you about his 13 great-grandchildren.
