It is with profound sadness that the family of Gerald Spell announce his passing on Feb. 21,2025 at the age of 77. Gerald was a 1966 graduate of Sulphur High School. He worked as a welder on pipelines throughout the United States. Gerald was meek, mild mannered, kind hearted, laid back, hard working, generous man which, once life settled down, enjoyed having lunch with his friends, loved yard work, and most of all watching movies and TV while eating his Blue Bell Ice Cream.  Gerald will be lovingly remembered by his companion, Marlene Blanchette Ivey; children, Grant Spell (Donna Lyons) and Heather Spell; mother of his children, Marsha Racca Spell; grandchildren, Gatlin, Cash, and Graci; brother, Brady “Sandy” Spell; sister, Jackie Kennedy (David), as well as, numerous relatives and friends. He will also be dearly missed by Damon Ivey, Ashley Ivey Atkins (Chris), Kyleigh, Kaelyn, and Layla.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Hallet and Laura (Dugas) Spell.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Feb. 27, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur with a Celebration of Life to follow from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Gerald requested a cremation and burial at Big Woods Cemetery with his mother and father. We will always carry his memory in our Hearts.
