A 42-year-old Lake Charles man, Joshua C. Boyd, was found guilty of molestation and sexual battery of victim under 13 on Friday.

In 2021, the victim, age 10 at the time, disclosed to a teacher that Boyd had been sexually abusing her for several years.

Boyd is facing a sentencing range of 25 to 99 years on each charge. Sentencing for Boyd will be held Feb. 27, before Judge Joseph Pousson.

Assistant District Attorneys Taylor Alexander and Kadence Huber prosecuted the case for the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office.
