An unresponsive Lake Charles man was found early Friday afternoon after officers were called to his Shady Lane home in reference to a welfare check.

Lake Charles Police Lt. Jeffrey Keenum said officers responded to the call at about 12:07 p.m.

​“Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive victim,” Keenum said. “The victim was immediately transported via Acadian ambulance to a local hospital, where the victim was pronounced deceased.”

​Detectives are investigating a manner and cause of death, Keenum said.
